Campo Nubes is a very small village (a pedania) near Fuente Tojar that comes under the jurisdiction of the town of Priego de Cordoba. It has roughly 30-40 residents, no shop, no bar, no school, no surgery, no noise.

The dirt road from the village, part of the Colada of the Camino Real, leads to the main road that connects Cordoba with Granada. It has virtually no traffic except the odd tractor and two extranjeros walking with their dogs.

It has an ancient tower – the Torre del Morchon – which is accessible from the dirt road and is a medieval watchtower from the days of the Muslim kingdom of Andalucia.

The dirt road does, however, have a series of road signs that are rather quaint in that they are low budget, completely pointless and invite wonder as to who would think they would be a good idea.

Given that there is close to zero traffic, you do have to wonder. And given that the signs point to the very obvious – you can clearly see a small bend in the road – you do wonder who managed to persuade the local authority to put them here.

But they are fascinating in their own way and their incongruous nature deserves some kind of pictorial remembrance.
